Thank You Audiobahn A4401T 4-chan amp, can you do 2ohm + 4ohm each chan?

Ok so, I have an Audiobahn A4401T 4 channel amp.

Specs:
  • 560W Max, Class A/B 4-Channel Car Amplifier
  • RMS Power Rating:
    • 50 watts x 4 chan. @ 4 ohms
    • 70 watts x 4 chan. @ 2 ohms
    • 140 watts x 2 chan. @ 4 ohms Bridged
  • Max Power Output: 560 watts @ 2 ohms stereo or 4 ohms bridged
Now my questions are, I have a pair of 2ohm speakers in the front and 4ohm in the back.

Can I put the 2ohms on channel 1 + 2 and the 4ohms on 3 + 4?
And will it yield 70x2 for the 2ohm and 50x2 watts on the 4ohms still?

Not sure if it's ok to mix different ohm speakers (in pairs) or not, help?

Yes, you can put the 2 ohm in front and the 4 ohm in back. Like you stated, the power output will be a bit different, but many people don't realize that this is a nice way to create a very nice front soundstage as these speakers will automatically be playing louder due to the increase in power versus the rear speakers.

Awesome, thanks Heavy Duty

I actually just got finished installing the new infinities in the front and took out my old kenwoods. About a week ago I installed this 4 channel amp and instead of wiring the fronts I added another pair of little infinities in the rear and wired them to the amp instead. But the fronts just sounded horrible because they were only getting 22watts each!

So I decided to get these 2ohm infinities and they sound great running off the head unit.

However, to me it makes more sense now that i'm thinking about it, the biggest speakers (front infinities and rear alpines) should really get the 4 channel amp. And the smaller infinities should be hooked up to the head unit instead, they are 2ohm as well.

HAHA wow... I just realized I had a 2ohm 4ohm load on this amp already!!! HAHAHAHA way to go Nick.

Yeah right now I need the front soundstage

Before the Infinities I had to fade the front by 8db

Now after I put in the 2ohm Infinities I only have to go 5db

Plus I got a much better soundstage because these have aimable tweeters
