Help 0003 Converting BTA 10100's to Passive

Hello everyone, anyone?

I have a few BTA 10100's that I got off Crutchfield and both stopped working about 3 months after having them installed. One right after the other

From the way they sounded before totally shutting down and from what the installer place said, I'm figuring my issues have to do with the built in Amp's: Both the tubes look virtually new.

Since I have several Amps laying around; is there a simple way to convert my BTA's into Passive Subwoofers?
(I was figuring maybe taking out the Amp unit or snipping some wires?)

Any help is appreciated
