Hi, the tube is in the rear of the hatch, up against the interior of the vehicle, with the output side of the tube about 8" from the back of the trunk.

The Tube, is too far from the vehicle. Ideally, the Tube, needs to be placed 2 to 4 inches away from the vehicle, from there, you can play with the distance. 8 inches is entirely too far to use the corner loading to increase output, which is what makes the Tube, such an effective design.

Hi, it's been a bit, but I received an update from my son. He decided to reconnect the leads back to the speaker wires that we originally wired the sub up to, and where causing the pulsing sounds in both the sub and the right front speaker, and what do you know ... the sub works perfectly now. Go figure ... I know we disconnected and reconnected those speakers at least 10 times when we installed it originally, trying to eliminate the noise ... I guess the 11th time was the charm! Thanks for the help.

PS We moved the sub to be within 4" of the rear of the trunk too.
