LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS ON USING TUBE SPEAKERS WOULD LIKE TO MOUNT 2 SCUBA8 SUBWOFFERS ON VERTICAL 6X6 STEEL SUPPORT POSTS. THEN THE TUBE SPEAKERS AND POSSIBLY HORN SPEAKERS WOULD BE OVERHEAD USING BOARD TOWER HARDWARE.QUESTIONS:
1.IS THERE AN ADVANTAGE OF USING MORE THAN 1 MAA1500 FOR TWO SUBWOFFERS.
2.WOULD 4 TUBES AND FOUR HORNS BE
ADEQUATE OR 4 AND 2 ETC.BEST CONFIGURATION FOR THIS AREA.HOW DOES ONE CALCULATE THE AMOUNT OF AMP NECESSARY TO POWER THESE UNITS.
Hey Scuba, welcome to the Bazooka forum.
1. The advantage is about 200-250watts, however, the disadvantage is unloading and eventual failure of the sub in that much square footage.
2. I think 4 tubes and 4 - 8 8in tubbies should adequately fill the need. Run at least as much as the speakers are rated RMS. A hefty power supply and batteries are a must if you intend to use 12v amplification. KENETIK makes some awesome power supplies and batteries.
